A vital force behind Edmond Memorial's incredible run to the semi-finals last season, Lawson is in his fourth year with Bulldog Football and ninth year of competitive play within the Edmond Bulldog Vertical system.
Lawson brings a high level of football IQ and physicality to every snap. A versatile and experienced presence on the field, Lawson shines as an offensive lineman, defensive lineman, and tight end, proving invaluable to the team's success.
Beyond the gridiron, his multi-sport background in wrestling and track further highlights his athleticism, discipline, and competitive drive.
A product of Central Middle School, Lawson is a dedicated student-athlete who is actively exploring opportunities to continue his academic and athletic journey. He's cheered on by his most enduring fans, Steven and Carrie Akins, and Nate Lawson.

Playing offensive line, tight end, and defensive line, Wesley Lawson's football career is marked by substantial team success and individual recognition.
In the 2024 season, a pivotal year for Lawson, he was a crucial member of Edmond Memorial's phenomenal season of successes.
His team reached the OSSAA State Semi-finals, was crowned Oklahoma Class 6A-1 Regional Champions, finished as District Championship Runners-up, and secured the Edmond All-City Championship.
Lawson's individual impact during the 2024 playoffs was recognized, as he earned EMHS OSSAA Quarterfinals “Trench” Player of the Game.
His dedication to improvement was noted early in his career; he was awarded the “Improvement Excellence” award during the 2021 QBI Camp Impact/Lineman University event in Texas.
His history of contributing to winning programs extends back to his freshman year, as he was also a member of the 2022 COAC Conference 9th Grade Championship team.
Even in youth football, Lawson's teams were consistently dominant, being part of the 4th grade INFC Oklahoma State Championship runners-up team in 2017, and his Youth Bulldog team won three consecutive Division Championships with three undefeated seasons.
